The Objective

The installation of 2700m of 1500mm spiral welded steel trunk watermain, an uncommon but highly durable product that only a few municipalities use for trunk watermains – and one of our areas of expertise.

Challenges

Half of the project fell in York Region while the other half fell in the City of Toronto. This required a lot of logistical planning and coordination between the stakeholders. And as with any project in a high-density urban area, local traffic flow could not be seriously disrupted.

The Result

An extensive pre-construction planning process as well as traffic controlling led to this project being completed on budget and on time, with minimal impact on local traffic.
